Velocix Delivery Appliances
Velocix Delivery Appliances are edge-caching servers that locally store and deliver digital content to requesting users. Multiple delivery appliances are typically installed at each deli¬very node to provide the required delivery capacity.
Velocix delivery appliances come pre-loaded with Velocix delivery software and include a 1-year annual license to use. A single GigE port is activated for delivery on each appliance with the option to activate additional GigE ports to increase delivery capacity if required. Optional format plug-ins are also available to enable popular delivery protocols and media file format. .

Support for popular digital media file formats and protocols via optional software plug-ins and dedicated appliances:
HTTP plug-in - HTTP file download, Progressive streaming
Flash plug-in - Adobe Flash Streaming (Live and On-Demand), RTMP (T/E), SWF verification, Adaptive BitRate streaming, MP4, FLV, MOV formats.
Website caching plug-in - Reverse proxy acquisition and acceleration
Windows streaming appliance - Windows Media Streaming (Live and On-Demand).

Delivery speed control:
Ability to set a specific maximum delivery rate for HTTP download and progressive streaming objects.

Access control:
Control access to content via token-based user authentication
Each token is single use and valid for a configurable period; token usage is logged for audit purposes.
Velocix Token Authentication is configurable by individual asset or asset group and can also be used in conjunction with other protection mechanisms (i.e., DRM).
A geo-blocking capability can also be used to restrict delivery to specific IP ranges or geographies (country/city) for each individual asset.

Ability to increase capacity via activation of additional GigE delivery ports.
