Tutorials, seminars and Internet TV services delivered globally by Velocix in High Definition MPEG-4 format

Cambridge, UK - June 5, 2008

Velocix™, provider of the world's leading Digital Asset Delivery Network, today announced that Instituto Cervantes is using its digital delivery services to provide High Definition online video to its audiences around the globe. Instituto Cervantes is the largest organization in the world responsible for promoting the study and teaching of Spanish language and culture.

With Velocix, Instituto Cervantes is able to expand the reach of its global network of more than sixty branches. Additionally, the Institute recently launched an online TV service - delivered by Velocix - that provides a new focal point for its Internet offering.

"We previously used a local ASP, but found the service was not scalable enough for our means and couldn't handle the enhanced functionality we needed to take the Instituto into the modern, Web 2.0 world, with high definition video in MPEG-4 format," said Ramón Tijeras Cózar, Director for Cervantes Virtual Audiovisual Center at Instituto Cervantes. “With Velocix however, we have the flexibility to offer a variety of on-demand tutorials and seminars worldwide, as we look to increase our activity in spreading Spanish culture and language to new regions."

"We’re delighted to be working with Instituto Cervantes, to accelerate delivery of their HD quality video services globally," said Phill Robinson, CEO, Velocix. "Velocix is the enabler that is allowing them to deliver on their innovative and ambitious online plans as they look to further expand their Internet video initiatives."

Velocix offers the broadest and most innovative range of digital delivery services available today. The Velocix network provides an Internet fast lane for delivery of large digital assets like video, music, software and games. This means that high quality streamed video plays uninterrupted from start to finish and file downloads complete without failure in a fraction of the time.
