Velocix Asset Control Portal

The Velocix Asset Control Portal provides unparalleled management, control and reporting over the entire digital asset distribution lifecycle. Velocix Asset Control Portal provides fine grain control of every aspect of delivery at the individual asset level.

Velocix Asset Control Portal provides access to a suite of tools and services for asset publishing, storage allocation, asset configuration, service administration, reporting and billing. The portal is supported by the following Velocix Network service components:

Velocix Asset Publisher

Velocix supports two modes for publishing content onto the Network:

• Push: Content is authorised for delivery onto the Velocix Network and uploaded to the Velocix Vault, global redundant storage solution. There are significant benefits to Push-publishing. This method of publishing provides enhanced end-to-end performance and availability as each asset is stored on the network and so is always accessible.
• Pull: Content is authorised for delivery onto the Velocix Network, but Velocix is provided with the details of an origin server from which to acquire the content as required in real time.

FTP: The Velocix Asset Publisher also supports content published via FTP. Any standard FTP client can be used to upload assets to the Velocix Vault. Assets are deleted from the FTP server once they have been uploaded and can then be managed through the Velocix Asset Control Portal.

Upload Accelerator: The Upload Accelerator is a cross platform utility that has been designed for the bulk uploading of assets to the Velocix Vault. The uploader has built-in integrity checking to ensure that the published content is corruption free. All uploads are multi-seeded to multiple content servers within the Vault. This provides maximum resiliency in the event that an individual connection were to fail, and also ensures maximum throughput.

Vault

Velocix Network offers scalable, online, on-network storage within the Velocix Network’s secure global data centers, for a content owner's entire catalogue. Velocix Vault offers redundant storage across RAID disks and then replicates the entire catalogue to multiple locations for complete resiliency.

Each Velocix Vault location is connected to the Velocix Network backbone via multi-gigabit links, guaranteeing high throughput and ensuring fast content replication to support the Velocix Instant-On capability.

The Velocix Network is able to offer end-to-end delivery and performance SLAs when content is held in the Velocix Vault.

Reporting

The Velocix Asset Control Portal provides live per-asset and group level reporting. For each asset, delivery, costs and many other aspects of delivery can be tracked at multiple levels of granularity, including global, regional and geographic levels.

Reporting and Analytic views are provided to examine rich contextual information available via the Velocix Network such as - traffic, location, audience, completion and speed.

Billing

The Velocix Asset Control Portal provides a real time and historical view of each customer's bill. The charges within a historical bill can be examined at the individual object level or by groups of object through the Departmental Billing feature.
