Velocix Download Agent
Velocix can provide both file download and popular streaming solutions for video. Basic delivery of downloads (e.g. HTTP) and streaming can be achieved without the need for any Velocix software installed on the end-users device.
However Velocix makes a quantum leap beyond traditional CDNs and standard file delivery and streaming services, to provide major enhancements to resiliance, performance, quality-of-service, all with improved economics. The advanced Velocix services that make this possible require additional intelligence at the end-of-the-network, with the installation of the Velocix Download Agent.
The Velocix Download Agent enables download to own, rental and advertising supported business models for all digital asset types.
The service utilizes the the advanced multi-source delivery capabilities of the Velocix Network, which enable guaranteed bitrates, higher throughput and greater resilience than traditional delivery services.
The Velocix Download Manager also provides an optional Next Generation P2P capability as part of its closed network that further improves throughput, support for flash crowds and resilience whilst radically reducing delivery costs.
All downloads are automatically verified for integrity by the Velocix Download Agent and any errors automatically corrected on the fly. Additionally the Guaranteed Delivery capability means only completed downloads are charged for, with no additional costs for failed or incomplete attempts.
