Beyond the Technology: Creating Value Across the Video Journey

IBC has always been one of the most important weeks of the year for our industry.

This year, the conversations across the show reinforced many of the themes we’ve been focused on at Velocix: looking beyond any individual technology to better understand the broader journey our customers are on and the role we can play in creating value along the way.

The dynamics of our industry are changing quickly. Video providers are navigating evolving consumer expectations, increasing complexity, and continued pressure to demonstrate the value of investment in their video businesses. At the same time, consumers have seemingly endless choices competing for their attention.

That broader view is increasingly important. It’s no longer enough to think about one piece of the technology stack in isolation but instead understanding the broader business our customers are operating: the consumers they serve, the experiences they want to create, the economics behind those services, and how our technology can help them differentiate.

That perspective was reinforced throughout IBC, including in our work with Maria Rua Aguete (Omdia) and Andy Waltenspiel (Waltenspiel Consulting). Bringing together perspectives from across the industry helps us challenge our thinking, stay close to the issues facing video providers, and ensure our priorities remain connected to the value our customers are trying to create.

Where Velocix Fits
For Velocix, this aligns closely with the direction we’re already pursuing. We sit at a critical point in the video ecosystem, with technology that enables our customers to create differentiated experiences for millions of consumers around the world. Our focus is on building from that position and continuing to expand the value our platform can create.

That work is already underway as wecontinue toward a more hardware- and OS-agnostic, cloud-native platform. For our existing customers, that means greater flexibility to evolve their technology environments while continuing to scale efficiently. It also creates a foundation for us to introduce new capabilities faster and deliver greater value from the investments they are already making in their video businesses.

Velocix Analytics and Agentic AI
Velocix Analytics is one example of that direction. At IBC, we introduced the evolution of our cloud-based Analytics platform with Agentic AI, which was recognized with a CSI Magazine Award at the show.

What excites me isn’t AI for the sake of AI. It’s what capabilities like this can do to help video providers better understand what is happening across their video ecosystem, make smarter decisions, operate more efficiently, and ultimately deliver greater value to their consumers and businesses.

That is an important part of how I see our platform evolving. As investment in video faces greater scrutiny, technology must do more than perform. It must create measurable value, helping providers get more from their investments while giving them greater ability to differentiate in a world where consumers have nearly limitless content at their fingertips.

A Refreshed Brand and Mission
IBC also gave us the opportunity to introduce our refreshed Velocix brand to the industry. The new identity reflects the foundation that has made this company successful, while signaling our ambition for the future.

Our mission captures that direction:
We bring bold ideas to life through solutions that create enduring value for our customers and perform with simplicity at scale.

What This Means Going Forward
The connection between our mission, the work already underway across our platform, and what we heard in Amsterdam is clear. Our enduring value is bigger than our technology. It means understanding our customers’ businesses, the challenges they are working to solve, and the value they need to create in the market. That perspective keeps our focus on where technology can have the greatest impact: enabling greater efficiency and scale, supporting differentiation, and creating more value from the investments our customers are making.

Our opportunity isn’t simply to keep pace with where the industry is headed. It’s to listen closely, evolve with purpose, and help set the direction.
